BRITISH NAVAL ACTIVITY.
TURKISH BATTLESHIP SUNK
London, Monday. The Press Bureau announces that the Turkish battleship Messudieh was torpedoed by a British submarine in the Dardanellee, and sank. Tha feat was accomplished by submarine 811, which, despite difficult currents, entere.l the Dardanelles on Sunday under the command of Commander Norman Holbrook. The submarine dived under five rows of mines and reached the Messudieh, which was guarding the minefield. At close range she launched a torpedo, which Btruck the battleship aft and the she returned by the same difficult route. Although pursued by gunfire and torpedo boata she got clear away and rejoined the fleet. On one occasion she was submerged for nine hours, awaiting a favourable opportunity to continue the voyage. AUSTRIAN TORPEDO BOATS MINED. Rome, Monday. Two Austrian torpedo boata were mined and sunk at Pola, the Austrian naval base at the head__oLJjie.

The American Consul, Mr Latham, reports from Punta Arenas that the cruiser Dresden has arrived there safely. She wns not injured. (Punta Arenas elands on Chilean Boil, in the Strait of Magellan)
