BUILDING BY-LAWS.
ALTERATION 'lO BE CONFIRMED.
At a recent meeting of tho Borough Council n motion was adopted by which the boundaries uf ths brick area in the township were altered. Tho ordinary procedure would have been to have advertised the new bylaw according to the Act, and had it confirmed at a. subsequent meeting. At Monday evening's meeting Cr Martin wished to know why the ordinary procedure had not been carried out. """*
The M'iyor said ho had explained the mattur to the Council 11 last meeting. In view of the fact that the by-laws were being revised and wouhi nil be dealt with shortly it setnied to him ill-advised to deal with one single by-law in the meantime. Cr Howaith pointed out that the \ Mayor had usnd the same argument when tlm motion was before the Council, and the motion had hewn carried. The alteration wbb important, and as the matter of dealing with the whole of the by-laws would take some time it wad imperative that the building by-law should he adopted, § Cr Somerville said he agreed that the by-law in question was urgent; he moved that steps to advertise and confirm the alteration ahoulrt be proceeded with. Cr Martin seconded the motion, which was carried,
