Newton King reports:— At Waiwakaiho yards on 6th inst. I had a full yardng of cattle, the condition and qualiity being Very fair right through. Bidding was good, practically a full clearance being made at advanced prices. Bulls and good conditioned cows are at present bringing great prices, and it will certainly pay any dairymen to cull their herds and replace with heifers. - A choice line of Jersey fifteen months- heifers, fair size stuff, made £3, and a small line of woolly ewes and lambs 40s, springing heifers, good £6 to £6 12*3 (3d, Bmaller sorts, but fair quality £5 to £5 15s, small £4 2a 6d to £4 15s, dairy cows £4 15s to £7, pedigree Jersey bull lljgns, heavy grade Jersey bull £l3 15s, younger Jerseys £5 10s, to £8 7s 6d, yearling Jerseys £1 15s to £3 15s, 15 monthHolsteins £42 s to £5, yearling Shorthorns £4 10s to £6, pedigree Ayrshires £4 10a to £6 ss, empty 2 year coloured heifers £4 2s, empty 20 months heifers, very few yarded £3 to £3 lis, mixed yearlinga £1 lis 6d to £3 2s, yearling to 15 monthß heifers 37s to 50s, 15 months steers, £3 5s to £3 lis, yearling steers £2 10s to £2 16s 6d, 2 year steers, rough £4 14s, good fat cows up to £9 16s, light fat cows £7 9s 6d to £7 lis, forwarj cows £5 9s to £6 18s, good store cows £4 10s to £5 6s, ligher framed cows £3 £4 2s, very aged cows £2 2s. In the dairy yards on 10th inst, I had a fair entry, all of which I was able to clear at prices showing a sharp advance on late rateH, beat heifers sold up to £B, smaller sorts up to £5 17s 6d, dairy cows £6 10s to £B, the 49 head sold averaging £5 15s 6d.
