BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.
The receipts from the ball promoted in.aid of the Belgian Fund have now been completed, and the very satisfactory total of over £3l has been rceived. This will be augmented by a few small returns, and it is antil cipated fully £32 will be realised. A donation cf £2 2s from Mr Giesen, chemist, has to De acknowledge. Great praise is f'ue to the ladies' committee for their efforts in promoting the ball and for the manner in which the arrangements were carried through. The joint secretaries Mesdames Lamb and Lumsden,devoted special efforts to the cause and Mr Sutherland is also deserving of special mention for his efforts. We have received from Mr Wray Wilsun, Hangatiki, the sum "of £1 lGs, the result of the social recently. held at Hangatiki. Auckland, This day. It is expected as a result of "Clothing Day," in the Belgian Week, 500 cases of clothing, valued at £20,000 will be shipped from Auckland. Free insurance up to £lO, 000 is given by local copmanies.
