Paris, Frk'ay. A communique states the action from Lys to the sea is less severe. The German efforts to cross the Yser Canal failed. German attacks north-east and south-east of Ypres have been repulsed. Wa gradually advanced during the last few daye, and the line from Armentieres to the Ois'e is now within three hundred and fifty metres of the German wire entangements. We captured TracyleVal, and progressed slightly at other points north of the Aisne. We repulsed German counter attacks at Chavonne and Soupir, and also at Berry-au-bac. some
