CORRESPONDENCE.
The Editor. Sir—There appeared a local in last Wednesday's issue of your paper re fchs fire on Sunday, that calla for some comment. The local reads "that but for the action of willing helpers the building would have been destroyed/' Give the brigade their doe. They dogeive'credit for the way they turned out, and with the water jjressura available here the building had no chance of being destroyed. Perhaps you will remember the first time the brigade were called out to this house. Mo one thought anything could be saved, and yet it Btands to-day as the brigade left it on that night. It is a purely voluntary brigade and the conditions under which they have to work, giving their time gratis, deserves recognition, and the business people and everyone in Te Kuiti should support them as much aa passible, and not throw cold water on their work, which is a thankless one in Te . Euiti. —I am, flic., PAIR PLAY.
