On the side road in the original work there had only been two bad places metalled leaving gaps of about ten chains. Out of the surplus money he proposed to complete these gaps. This would make a much batter job ar.d prevent the short stretches of metal being cut up. The main raad benefitted to the extent of sixty-four chains of extra metal, and it was oniy fair to do the other work, in addition to which it was protecting the metal already laid in patches. —Cr Gregg said he agreed with the engineer as to the fairness, but 'ha understood the original loan only provided foe metalli.-g thu two patches on the side road, and this was what thd complaint was pased on.—Eventually the matter was left in the hands of the engineer. Swainson's Road. On the motion of Cr Smyth the clerk was instructed to furnish particulars concerning the raising of a loan.
