ARIA.

Own Correspondent. On Friday evening of last week a patriotic danco had been arranged ai Kaeaea. The weather was fine and tiie attendance large and represen* tative. Dancing was kept up tlil the early hours of the morning. The ladies provided the much-enjoyed refreshments. ** Last week Messrs J. B. Young and A. F. Howarth passed through the district getting things in-order from the Liberal stand-point for the coming general election. At Pio Pio they enrolled a great number of voters and pn route to Aria. It behoves all now to find out if their names are on the roll for it is said no less than 1600 names were struck off tha Taumarunui roll after the last election, most of whom had voted at that time. This is hard to explain, but is given forth us a fact. Corrected roll may be seen at the post offices, and people will be to blame if they do not ascertain if their names are not in order. Much enthusiasm is being shown already. which poinEß to a keen election Mr Jennings, the Opposition candidate, speaks at Pio Pio, Aria, and Kaeaea early next month. Aria was treated to an exhibition of pictures on last Friday evening. The entertainment was very good, as was the attendance. A very enjoyable dance was al9o held afterwards.
