The amalgamation scheme in con' nection with the proposed freezing works for the Waikato and King Country is being actively promoted in tho district. Mr T. Cooper haß been canvassing the districts round Te Kuiti this week and informed a Chronicle representative that twanty thousand of the thirty thousand shnres necessary to conclude tho amalgamation have been taken up. Mr Cooper intended leaving for the Kawhia district to-day.
