SELLING THE ENEMY'S CARGOES.
REPRISALS IN ENGLAND. "Received this day, 9.15 a.m. London, Friday. British cargo in German ports at the outbreak of the war is now being sold by order of the German Government. Reprisals are therefore afoot, in England. Hitherto a distinction has been made between such cargo and that captured. It is proposed to establish a clearing house to receive money for German cargo sold and make payment to merchants whose cargo is Bold in Germany.
BRITISH STEAMER SUNK. Rio Janeiro,. Friday. The cruiser Kronprinz Wilhelm sank the steamer Indian Prince. The crew were landed at Santos. BALTIC NAVAL FIGHT. GERMAN VESSELS SUNK. Wellington, Thursday. The following cablegram has been received from the High Commissioner in London: — "Reliable advices from Paris report that while a German cruiser and two torpedo-boat destroyers were laying mines in the Baltic, they were all sunk by the Russian cruiser Bayan. Five Germans from a Wrecked submarine wer« saved.
