Mr Massey announced last night that he was prepar d to make a itatement as to the date of the elections. His oarty desired whatever was done that the House should be unanimous about it, anH to that end he proposed to invite Sir Joseph Ward to confer with him to-morrow and see if he could come to some arrangement which would be satisfactory and constitutional.
