The forts at Namur were subjected to so furioua a bombardment yestevriay, and the fire was so well regulated, that the first few shits proved sufficient to silence Fort Marchoveletti, on the north-east of the town, while Forts Marzeret and Andoy were almost out of action
Despite barbed entanglements, through which passed an electric current of 150 volts, the Germans then entered the town without encountering much resistance By 8 o'clock on Sunday evening three thousand Belgians had evacuated the town in ordar, removing the railway rolling stock and motor csn The fortß in the north, and Forts Dave and St. Heubert, in the west, continued their resistance
The Berlin official news agency at Copenhagen states that Prince Frederick of Saxe-Meiningen was killed by a shell at Namur on Sunday
