Ellison, District Valuer, paid a visit to Taumarunui last week in connection with Assessment Court business. It was found, however, that no sitting of the Court was necessary, the recent adjustment by the valuer having been satisfactory. In connection with the promotion of a patriotic fund in the district, a grand cuncert ia to b9 held at Pin Pio on Friday, August 28th. The function ia being thoroughly organised, and no doubt there vtfiH be a splendid response from all parts of the district. In this issue Mr A Sanderson announces that he has taken ever the business of the Lotus tea rooms, and within a few days will be conducting a pork butchering business in connection with same.
