RATES 1914-1915 PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that it ia the intention of the Te Kuiti Borough Council, in pursuance of the provisions of Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporations Act 1908", and Section 51 of "The Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1913", also Sections 48 to 55 of "The ! Rating Act 1908", and amendments thereto; at its next Meeting to be h»ld in the Council Chambers, Rora street, on MONDAY, the 10th day of August 1914 at 7.30 p.m. to confirm the striking and levying of the following rates for the rating period Ist April 1914 to 3lßt March 1915. 00 A General Rate of Two pence three farthings (2|d) in the £ on the Unimproved Value of all ratable properties on the Valuation Roll of the Borough. (2) A Special Rate (£27,275 Various Works Loan) of One penny three farthings (lid) in the £ on the Unimproved Value of all ratable properties. (3) A Special Rate (£7035 Electric Light Loan) One penny (Id) in the £on the Unimproved value of all ratable properties. (4> A Special Rate (£13,000 Streets Improvement and Water Supply Loan) of Three farthings (Jd) in the £ on the Unimproved Value of all ratable properties. (5) A Separate Water Rate of Three farthings (fd) in the £on the Unimproved Value, in accordance with Section 51 of "The Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1913." ""The said rates will become due and payable on the 31st day of August 1914 to the Rate Collector, Borough Offices, Te Kuiti. The Estimates upon which the above-mentioned rates were struck, having been approved of by the Council, are, together with the Rate Book, open for public inspection at the Borough Officeß, Rora street, during office hours. AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Awakino County Council, held on the 4th day of July, 1914, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council t,o be held at 3.30 p.m. on SATURDAY, the Bth day of August, 1914, at Waitanguru: GEO. (Resolution) "In pursuance and exercise of the powers invested in it by section 16 of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913," and with the consent of the Ratepayers of the Pomarangi Special Rating Area, in the Awakino County hereinafter described, testified by a petition Bigned, by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said Speci ial Rating Area, the Capital ' Values of whose properties as appearing in the Valuation Roll of the said County is collectively greater than the Capital Values of the properties of the ratepayers who do not so consent, the Awakino County Council hereby resolves, by way of Special Order, as follows: For the purpose of widening, culverting, forming und metalling the Pomarangi road and for building two bridges on the aaid road, one over the Pomorangi Btream j and one over the Mangaohae river; also for providing half the cost of forming, widening, culverting and metalling portion of the' Mahoenui Kawhia road from Section 1, Block VII., Maungamangero Survey District tothe Northern Boundary of Section 9, Block 111., Maungamangero Survey District; and for building a bridge over the Mangaohae river on that road, the Awakino County Council hereby authorises the raising of a Loan of £4OOO at 4$ per cent, per annum for a period of 36J years, and declares that the cost of raising the said Loan and the first year's interest on the Loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised. "The Special Rating Area Bhall comprise the following sections:—Sections 1, 2, half of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, Block 11., Maungaraangero Survey District; Section 9, Block 111., Maungamangero Survey District; Sections 1, 2, half of 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, Block 1., Maungamangero."
