WILD CAT SCHEMES.

Sir,~Thera ate soae such schemes even in T« Kuiti, and one of them is the footpath up Tawa Street. This new fangled and hair-brained idea has , had the effect of making even narrower an already too narrow read un- ! til now it is with difficulty two vehicles can pass, and it has also put in an extra watertable. Every mob of cattle which comes up to the road, trample ell over the "footpath," and level h out a bit, and the best thing the Council can now do is to heave the whole concern over the bank and metal the road properly. A good metalled road is miles ahead of halfmade footpaths when there is neither room or need of il. There is one thing the ratepayers of. Te Kuiti will never be able to accuse the Mayor of using his "office and influence to give himself a good road, for a dirtier road than Tawa street ia at present it would be hard to find in Te Kuiti—l am. etc, ' CONSTANT USER
