SENSIBLE GAS.
Thay were putting' up for a t night or two at what was notoriously said to be the worst hotel in the State. Never mind what State. Their experience took on all the horrors of .a. nightmare. . In the-middle'-of their-last-night, not having slept well,. ,oheof them became dimly conscious that something was wrong. Suddenly he realised that ' the trouble came from ,'a leaky gas-jet. •"Wake 'up,.-' Bud,"-'he shouted' in his friend's ear,, as he shook him violently. "The gas is escaping." "Well, can you blame it growled his; companion, as he rolled over to renew his disturbed repose.
