MATIERE.
Mr W. A. Lyon, 8.A., youngest bother of Gr Lyon, and for ueveral years past engaged in'the scholastic profession, has been* successful in obtaining th* LL.B. degree with a view to entering upon the law. The lessee of the Ohura boarding establishment, Mr Duncan, with bis family, left the district last week. We understand health considerations were a deciding factor. The advent of the daily mail has been hailed with satisfaction. Mr and Mrs Mossnian, late of Niho Niho, have decided to make their home in Matiere for a while. The trustees of the Methodist Church property have decided to enter upon a building scheme shortly in Matiere. Mr Thomas Simmons and Mesdames Ferguson and Lyon a:e appointed to invite subscriptions. A concert and dance in aid of the Anglican Church' Bazaar Fund is to be held in the hall on July 3rd. A good programme and good music are anticipated.
