HOCKEY.
The Te Kuiti Hockey Ciub held" it* opening day on Thursday, when a large number of members and friends, assembled at Cotter's paddocks. Two enjoyable games between teams of men and ladies were played, and tie form displayed by many of the playeis augurs well for the success of the seeson and of the club. Afternoon, tea was provided by the ladies. It ia hoped ihat arrangements can be made to send both men's and ladies' *ep»> aentative teams to Te Awarautu within tb« next fortniaght.
