DOCTORS IN JAPAN.
A Japanese doct*br never drearr.s of asking a poor patient for a fee. Whenever a rich man.calls in a doctor, he does not expect that he v. ill receive a bill for medical servicer; in fact, no such thing v as a do:tor's bill is known in Japan, although nearly all modern, practices are in vogue there. , The strict honesty of the people does not make 'it necessary for the doctor' to as-i- for a fee. When he has finished his \rats' to the patient, a present is mads to him, just as much as the patint can afford. The doctor then smites, dows, thanks his patient, and th? transaction is settled. •
