GOLF.
On Saturday last a Stroke competition was held on the links, the men competing over the full 18 holes course. A good number of members competed and the afternoon's golf proved most enjoyable. The best card in the men's section was banded in by A. C. Simmons, handicap 12 who came in vfith a net score of 97; and in the ladies! section, Miss Ellison, handicap 12, handed in a card showing the excellent score of 41 net. The links are now in excellent order, and when the reconstruction of No 2. green- which is now in band, is completed, there is every likelihood of some good cards heirig iianded in at the next competition. The committee has instituted a Ladder in connection with the club, one section for men and one for ladies. The positions have been allocated according to handicaps, and the ladder and rules in connection therewith will be posted on the links.
