FAT STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd , report:— At Westfield yards on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in large numbers, and biddng was brisk throughout, first quality advancing in price. Others sold at late quotations. Piime oxen 33s per 1001b. others 29s to 325, cows and heifers 26s to 295, steers £7 10a to £ls ss, cows and heifers £5 to £l2 10s. A draft of nine steers, extra well fatted, from a client, averaged £ls. Veal calves were also yarded in large numbers and Bold well, heavy vealers selling to £4 10s medium weight £2 15s to £3 10s.. lightpr 35s to 51s, others 18s to 245, smaller and fresh-dropped 3 s to 15s. Sheep were yarded in extra large numbers, and sold under good competition. Best wethers sold at 29s 9d to 325. others 22s 6d to 29s 3d, half-fatted 20a to 22a 6d, ewes, extra heavy 23s 9d to 26a 6d, others l§s3dto22s 9d. Hoggets in extra large yarding. First quality 17s 3d to 19s 9d, others 13s 6d to 16s 6d. Pigs came forward in good supply, and sold at higher rates. Baconers £2 15s to £3 33, porkers £2 8s to £2 14s, small porkers 30s to 455. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale held on Wednesday as follows—There was a good supply of both cattle and sheep, every pen ottered being of prime quality. The beef cattle were especially good being extra prime and weighty. There was a good demand, and lots were sold well at ruling rates. Extra prime heavy bullocks £l3 to £l4 ss, prime bullocks £l2 to £l2 12s 6d, lighter' £ll 17s 6d, light steers £8 7s 6d to £9 7s 6d, prime heifers £7 ss, vealers 31s, prime heavy wethers 25s to 265, light wethers 22s 6d to 23s 6d, prime heavy ewes 24s 9d to 25e, primeewes 22s 6d, lighter 20s 6d, medium ewes 19a 6d. STOCK SALES.
The Farmers' Auctioneering Company report:— NGARLAWAHIA STOCK SALE. At Ngaruawahia, on June sth. we had an entry of 1194 sheep and 773 cattle. There was a good demand for all classes of stock, and practically the whole yarding was disposed of. Ewes in, lamb were at extreme prices 21s to 245, fat wethers 27s 6d, forward wethers 20s 6d to 23s 6d, empty ewes 153 9d to 20j. The cattle consisted of 250 three and a half to five year bullocks, a few fat cows, and balance young cattle and dairy stock. Heavy fat bullocks £l3 to £ls, medium , weignt, good quality fat steers £lO 9s to £lO 17a 6d, small fat steers £8 12s to £9 4a, well bred four year bullocks in for ward condition £8 to £lO 3s, same quality three and a half year steers £7 12s 6d to £9, plainer cattle £6 10s to £7, fat cows £5 15a to £7, two and a half to three year steers £5 10s to £6 10s, forward empty cows £4 to £4 15s. store cows £3 10s to £3 19s, eighteen month heifers £3 Is, dairy cows and heifers £4 15s to £6 ss. OHAUPO SALE. At Obaupi on June 9th, we had small pntry of stock. Forward conditioned wethers 21s to 23s 9d, small two tocth wethera 18s Bd, forward empty ewes 14s 7d to 17s 4d, dairy cows £5 5s to £9, and a half ye*r steers in good order £6 2s, good calves 40s to 50s, fat and furj ward cows £4 10s to £6 Is, store now 3 £2 10a to £3 ss.
