LENGTHY SITTING. NUMEROUS BY-LAW BREACHES. A somewhat lengthy sitting of the Te Kuiti Police Court was held yesterday, Messrs E. Moore and N. C. Matthew, J'b.P.. presiding. Insobriety.- A first offender was convicted and ordered to pay. cost. Unattended Vehicles.—For leaving their vehicles unattended in the street Watler Hughes, Edward Saringhause, Percy Thomas Stokes, Edward Petersen, Walter Taverner, Beit Shearer, George Martin, Eddie Bovvden, John Pitcon,Frederick Kerr, Bert Mudgway, and Kenneth Leslie were convicted and ordered to pay 7s coUs. By law Breaches. —William Alexander, for riding a liorsa across a foot path, was ordered to pay 7s costs. For drivirg without lights after sunset Archie Rennia and Richard Cargill were ordered to pay costs, while for driving round a corner at other tnan a walking pace, William Pettigrew was similarly treated. Obscenity.—John Taylor, who did not appear, was convicted and fired £2 and costs, or in default 14 days' imprisonment. Annie Monaghan, who pleaded not guilty to a similar offence, was fined a simalar^amount. Theft of Hats.—Tangi Kara and Koniki Hangitaawa Were charged with tho theft of three hats on the night of the dog trials at Pio Pio. Accused were convicted and fined £1 and costs on each charge. Nohi iti Rangitaawa, the father of the previous accused, was charged with receiving stolen property. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. Assault Charge.—Tuheka He tet was charged with assaulting Mere te Kongo at Oparuro so us to cauaa her actual bodily harm. Accused was remanded until June 19th. hail being allowed, accused in £IOO and one surety of a like amount.
