King Country Chronicle Saturday, May 23rd, 1914 KING COUNTRY DAIRYING.
The expansion of dairying in this district since tho industry was inaugurated has bean strikingly illustrated in respect to the large annual increases reported in the supplies to the various factories. Such expansion indicates the suitability of the country for thi3 profitable branch of farming in no uncertain manner, and the further fact that local factories which are still in the pioneering stage have been highly successful in competitions for butter making further emphasises the high class character of the country. The success of the Te Kuiti and Aria factories at the last Waikato Winter Show gave indication that in addition to the suitability of the country for dairying; the methods adopted by the new factories were cn right lines, and the expansion of the industry was going hand in hand with efficiency and progressive method. The position achieved by the Pio Pio factory in the Weddel Shield competition for the past season is further proof that the high standard aimed at from the inception of the industry in the district is being well maintained. The Pio Pio managament is to be congratulated on the success of Ihe factory, and there is little doubt that all connected with the concern will be inspired to even greater efforts to maintain the standard achieved during the past season. In this connection it is to be noted that the initial responsibility in reaching a high standard rests with the suppliers, and with the strictest possible attention to the necessary details on the farm and in the delivery of the supply make it possible for the factory to maintain its prestige. That the Pio Pio suppliers are alive to this important factor is evidenced by past j results, and that further honours in the dairying world will be achieved 1 in consequence is confidently antici- 1 pated. !
