TREAT THE CALVES RIGHT.
Careless methods of feeding young calves senna to be the course of many farmers. It is hard to say, though true, that, in mßny communities among many farmers, the evidences noted time and again are too flagrant to be passed up without some comment. Feeding calves with surrounding conditions, as regards filth, no better than an ill-kept hog pen does not breed, health, wealth and happiness. True, a little extra time, a little more care is required to keep calves buckets as clean as you would keep your drinking cup, but is there not a world of satisfaction in knowing that they are clean, and, in fact, everything about the dairy. Cleanliness is healthfulness. Healthfulness is the main factor in growth, and from growth comes pleasure and profit. Give the young things in the dairy the best chance possible by feeding them sweet warm wholesome skimmed milk and keep them thrifty by keeping the buckets clean.
