WAIPA RAILWAYS AND COLLIERIES LIMITED.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The annual general meeting of the shareholders of this company was held in the Chamber of Commerce, Wellington, on Tuesday, April 21st. The report indicated that the company's railway from Ngaruawahia to Te Akatea was practically completed, and the chairman of the meeting stated that the company expected to be putting coal on the market in May. At the mine, the screening plant, outhouses and machinery were all erected, and the development work at the mine itself bad progressed sufficiently to enable the company to put coal upon the market immediately the ballasting work on the railway was completed. Messrs Maurice Casey, Charles Stewart, and Dr C. P. Knight, the retiring directors, were re-elected as were the retiring auditors.
