HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLS- - GRAM, Wellington, Moxday.

The High Commissioner's market report, dated London 25th inst., is as follows: —

Mutton. —'The market is becoming mora depressed on a:ccunt of large arrivals. Tha demand has been chiefly for light weight. Canterbury 4§d, heavyweight, difficult to ssll 31-d, North Island 4£d for light weight. Lamb. —Fair demand for better gradea. The market ha 3 been unfavourably affected by lower prices of mutton. Canterbury two's 6Jd, heavyweights syd, other than Canterbury 5 5-16 d for light weight. Beef. —The market is very dull, ml quota tions are nominal. Hinds 4|d, fores 3?id, supplies of America chilled beef are large, Chilled hinds 4yd, fores 3 5-lGd.

Bu!te,r.—TiiQ market is quiet, but rather steadier. Danish, fair demand, 1143 to" 116s; New Zealand, fair demand, 1,06s to IGSs;, unsalted, ditto, 114s to' 118s; Australian 100s to 104s; exceptionally choice ditto, 108s; Argentine, market slow, 98s to 102?; Siberian, in poor demand, 99s to 103; Amsrican ereamless, 98s to 1003.

Cheese.—The market is firmer, with fair demand for New Zealand. For Canadian the market is quiet. White, 68s to 703; coloured, 69s to 71s; New Zealand, white, 61s 6d to 625: coloured, 64a to 64s 6d; Australian, white 59a 6d to 60s; "coloured, 62s to 635. Hemp.—Tha market is excited on account of the Mexican crisis, and nrices have been advancing raoidly. Tha Manilla market is firmer, shipper's holdingtoff. Fair currant, £2B; May to July" shipments. £29. Tha out put from Manila for the week was 20,000 bales. For New Zealand hemp the market is very firm, and business has been dona in high point 3 at £25 10s, to-day's value. June and July shipments are about £26 10s; fair sold at £24 10s during thii week, and is now quoted at £25 10s; good fair is nominally £27, but there are no sellers.
