THE AMERICAN TRUST.

Those interested in the meat trade ara quietly watching certain operations going on at present with a view to deciding whether the American trust is endeavouring to secure a footing in the Dominion. It is said the Americans have quietly acquired the Canterbury meat business and since then have extended their operations to other parts of tha Dominion. In view of these indications it will be interesting to note if in the near future tbe co-oparativa meat companies have difficulty in gatting sufficient space for tbeir shipments to Canada and America.
