BOROUGH COUNCIL ELECTION.
SIX CANDIDATES NOMINATED. The bye-election in the Borough to fill the vacancies caused by the resignation of Mesars J. F. Walsh and H. Matthew from the Council promises to afford an interesting contest. Nominations for the pcsitions closed yesterday, and the following six gentlemen were nominated:—Messrs C. Stevens, W. Lorigan, S. James, R, B. Webber, G. Elliott, and P. Cotter. The poll is to take place on Wednesday next, and before that date an opportunity will be afforded the candidates of placing their views before the ratepyers.
