HONIKIWI.
Own Correspondent,
An interesting wedding was solemnised on th 9 14th inat., when Misa Myrtl9 West, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles West, was married to Mr Arthur East. The ceremony took place at the residence of the bride's parents, and the Rev. W. J. Piggot officiated. The bride looked very nice in a pretty white dress with the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. She was attended by her sister, Miss Jessie West, whilst Mr Willie West carried out the duties of 'beat man. After the signing of the register the many relations and friends present partook of an excellent wedding hreakfast, and later M- and Mrs Ea3t were driven to the station en route for the Waikato where tha honeymoon will be spent. Great satisfactioon is felt throughout the district at the action of the Education Board in granting the request of tha settlers to make this a school district, and a meeting ia to be held on Ma? 4th to elect a committee to govern our local school. We hope that amongst ether things way 9 and means will be found of erecting a dwelling for the teacher.
