In the seventeenth century it 'sas a punishable offence in England to k'ss either wife or children on Sunday. The first woman to become a "wireless"operator on board an ocean-going steamship is Miss Graynella Parker. She is only 22 years of age, and has a post on the liner Mohawk. Many of the women in Florida scrub their floors with oranges. In almost any town in the orangegrowing districts women may be seen using them exactly as many housekeepers use soap. The acid in the oranges does the cleansing, and the boards are as white as snow after the application. The telephone girls of Rome believe that they are not given a fair chance of getting a husband, so a movement is on foot among them to have abolished the regulation which forbids them to marry before they reach the age of 28 years. Italian women reach their prime before they are 20, and consider their chances of marriage greatly lssened by this Government regulation.
