TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs G. H. Bullard (Commissioner, in the chair), J. Hesop. J. Rattenbury, Ryan, and Coxbead. The following business of interest to the King County was transacted:— The application of W. M. Peterson for section 21, block 11, Mapara, 317 acres, under perpetual leaße was approvsd. H. Collett applied to transfer Beution 29, block 1, Tangitu, 180 acres, to Jas. Duffy and J. H. Brown, but as Brown is not landless the application was refused at last meeting. The matter was now revived in an application to transfer to Duffy alone.—Approved. Notice was given by Mr T. B. Crump, solicitor, that application would be made to transfer section 11, block 12, Mapara, from E. A. Guilford to Florence Julian.—After very fullaConsideration it "was decided that Mrs Julain be allowed to increase the area she proposed taking to not exceeding 30 acres, and Guilford will be allowed to tansfer balance to an eligible person. The application of Terry Broa. for an O.R.P. license for section 3. block 8, Aria, 10 acres 2 roods 9 perches, adjoining their present selection, for approval under section 14, Land Laws Amemlenfc Act, 1912, was approved. It was resolved to approve of the issue of the license for|section 16, block 1, Tangitu, John Morgans. J. N. Langman desired to abandon section 6, block 10, Aria, 727 acres, selecled on August 21st, i 913. It was resolved to forfeit his interest, but that he he not disqualified under section 15 (1) of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913. The Mokauiti Dairy Company, Ltd., applied for part or the whole of section 19, block 2, TangitJ, 9 acres 2 roods 0 perches, for a factory site.— It was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of the Commissioner to arrange, after report is obtained from the ranger. It was reolved to re offer ection 1, block 5, Aria, 52 arns, for selection on optional conditions at 60s per acre. It was resolved in order that the Act be complied with that Mr Hcslop be requested to visit Waihi reserve witli the Commissioner, with a view to subdivision of the land for disposal. The Ohura County Council applied to have sections 1, 7, 8, 9, blocks 11 and 5, block 7, Aria, proclaimed a special reading district under section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913. I —-The ranger's report was satisfactory, and it was resolved to recommend that the sections be declared a special distrct for roading purposes. E. Buchli, selector of section 12, block 7, Mapara applied for the lease of 20 acres, part of Mapara township reserve, — It was resolved that until the locality is further developed the land be not dealt with, as a track goes through it, and the application be declined.
