Russell addressed a crowded meeting of over 800 people at the Theatre Royal last night, criticising the Government's one-ship naval policy, and the failure to provide cheap money. The speech lasted two and a-half hours. At the close an amendment of noconfidence in the Liberals was defeated by a large majority, the meeting cheering Mr Ruasell. MR PEARCE AT HAWERA. VOTE OP CONFIDENCE. Hawera, Thia Day. Mr G. V. Pearce addressed the electors at Hawera last night, when he explained the principal Acta of last session. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Pearce, also a motione expressing confidence in him and in the Massey Government.
