Mr Jus tice Edwards has given his decision in the case in which the Crown applied for an order of the Supreme Court relieving Mr W. T. Jennings of his seat on the Waitara Harbour Board, and for costs against him. The decision of his Honour was that an order must be made in favour of the Crown, and that £lO costs and necessary disbursements must b9 allowed against Mr Jennings. If he h'id resigned when his attention was first drawn to the matter, the judge w;is of opinion that no costs shuuld bo allowed against him, but as he sat on the board five times after being noiifind that his re-appointment was illegal, costs must ba allowed. The whole trouble was caused by a depart' mental blander.
