Mr David Nathan, of Wellington, interviewed, referring to the recent strike, said the whole business was a piece of political engineering for party purposes, staged managed with a sort of; Machiavellian finesse. The Maseey Government was making the same mistake as Napoleon in obtaining control of the press. Only two metropolitan newspapers few in the smaller towm remained definitely Opposition. Generally speaking, the great mass of workers were opposed to the Massey Government.
