Arthur who is l ibeing promoted to the Stratford office ,of the Department. A large number , of those present, including Mr Baker, the resident engineer at Okahukura, paid tribute to the capable manner in which Mr Arthur had always carried. out his dutio.-i. A number of toasts [ were honoured and songs rendered by nearly ever one in the company, while pipe elections by Meßsrs Campbell and Mc.Killop were much enjoyed. Mr J. lletet officiated at the piano in his usual very able manner, and a very sociable evening terminated at 2.30 a.m. with th« singing of "Auld Lang Syne.
