PRIME MINISTER'S TOUR.
RECEPTION IN WESTLAND.
INTERVIEWED AT CHRISTCHURCH.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCLVMON.] Christchurch, This Day. Mr Massey, Prime Minister, interviewed on his arrival from Greymouth, said he was greatly impressed with the dairying possibilities of the West Coast. "No man," he said, "could have had a better reception at every centre I had an opportunity of visiting. So far as the political position ia concerned, while not prepared to say that every elector in Westland is now a supporter of the Reform party, I am prepared to say this: That the people of Westland now understand the present Government is not a Government of reactionaries, and many of them were led to believe in a Government that is thoroughly progressive and really Liberal and Democratic, and one anxious to promote in every possible way the development of the country." The Premier received a deputation to day. To-morrow Mr Massey leaves for Dunedin, speaking at Tapanui in the evening.
