Newton King reports:—
STONY RIVER SALS.
At Stony River yards on 18th inst,, 1 had a good entry of both sheep an<i cattle, but through the visit of the Governor to Pirihaka occurring on the same day, there waß only a small attendance. Good business was done, however, at the hammer, as follows: Wearier heifers 19s to 265, weaner steers 27s 6d to £2, coloured 15 mcnth heifers £3 4s, vealers 40s, rough 15 months steers £2 lis, 3 year steers, Jerseys, but in forward condition £6 lis, sfrtall line of 3J years bullocks, very fins quality cattle, in forward condition at £8 lis, fat cows £6 7s, fat heifers £5 Is, store and forward cows £4 19s mixed aged ewes lis, f.m. ewes 8s 9d, forward ewes 12s 9d to 13s 9d, fat ewes and wethers 15s 6d to 18s 4d, lainbs 4s 9d to 8s Pd.
