Lifting of Loans.- The State Advances Department wrote, in reply to a letter from the clerk, slating that the interpretation of seetio 1 6 of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908, was that nvery loan grunted under part 3 of that Act hud to be lift* d by the local authority within twelva months nftur the granting of the lo :n. Te Kuiti-Mokmi Road-- l'he_ Public Works Department wrn'e, in re ply to a telegram from the Council, stating the carrying out of the work by the Department would Hive time, that initrurtione had been given to the Department's engineer t'> proceed With the work. -Received.
Closing a Road. -The Public Works Department wrote enclosing garotte notice of tho closing o*' n road and taking land for a mad in tin Tntoro district.----Received.
Kio Kio Mangmirougn Rend. The secretary of the Miingnorosgu Farmor.s' Union wrote enclosing the signed hood in connection with the guarantee for taking road. Received. Otnwa Road.' The Advanc ■:■; Department wrote with respect to the two loans that: fresh application would have to be made in order to earry out the idea of the two special areas -- Keeeivd. Tangitu Telephone --The secretary of the Tangitu Settlers' Association wrote requesting tin: Council to expedite matters in connection with the proposed teli'.plume line, which the Aa aociation thought had been unduly do layed. ■Th« clerk said he had written in reply stating any delay which had occurred rested with the Telegraph Department, and suggesting the Association should write to that Department. Uatigiteto Komi. -A letter waH received from the Chief Surveyor in reply to the Councils application for the issue of a Coventor's warrant ior the extension of tne Rangitoto road, staling that the Department was not disposed to consider the, application favourably. •Th<i dork stated iie hud written further giving full details. Pacakoko Read Thirds. The Commissioner of Crown Lands, 'i'aranaki, wrote stating W. H. Knighloy objected U> his t lirds being spent anywhere but on the Parakoko road. —The clerk laid he bad written to She effect that fhe thirds Were to be expended as suggested. Fencing a Road. -J. 0. Bewick wrote asking the Council to assist him in fencing a dangerous part of his road frontage. The road had slipped away and carried portion of the fence. - -Referred fo the engineer. County Roads. -The Public Works Department wrote enclosing copy of a« order in Council declaring the Pufc eta rata to lie a County road. The

Knkaru Road. J. T. Walker asked for tho Council's consideration in respect to work on the above rond.---Cr Smyth said it would be advisable to do some woik which would considerable relief. A letter was received from the clerk of the Awakieo County Council iucimatin;.' that tho chairman and Cif I toddy hud been appointed delegates of the Awakino County t.e attend the con fereere of the Uacknlocks Local llodies' Association at Taumarunui on April I'Uh. l.igbl.
