A case of red-hot vandalism has occurred cere, which shows to what lengths some people are capable of going. Mr Carroll had 40 sheets of iro.i on the roadside, and on going the other morning to sledgJ it home, found Ujitt some blackguard had deifc rately cut a hole about four or fivt! incher, long in orcli Apparently it was done in the night, as evii'y BJ'-tt h a ueen tinned over. It is tu bo hoped ti at tha miscreant will be riUcovered, a r . d that a severe penalty may b;i served out to him. Mr E. A. Guilford is in the field as the accredited candidate for the Tangitu riding on the Waitomo County Council. There is no doubt he will make a good member if elected.
The metalling is going aheed, quite a proceseion oi teams being met witn on the saddle. More teams should be on the pumice or if wet weather sets in soor, we would still havs ond LjkJ piece of road this winter before reaching Tangitu. Waimiha sports are to be held cn Easter Monday, and a good programme will be submitted.
