A special meeting takes place on Monday. A ballot on the question to cease work forthwith will be taken. Under the current award painters get Is 4d an hour, and eignwriters Is 6d. They want an increase to Is 6d and Is 8d respectively. In view of Mr Justice Heydon'3 decision in the iron trades case the award cannot be reopened. The painters are practically resolved as to what they can do to gain the increase.
