TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board on Wednesday there were present: Mr G. H. Billiard, Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman), Messrs J. Heslop, J. Rattenbury, and C. J. Ryan. TRANSFERS. E Brocklebank applied to transfer section 3, block 5 Mahoe, 1013 acres/ to Robert McClugaage. Consideration deferred for information about improvements. N. W. King applied to transfer section 9, block 13, Pouatu, 1 acre, to Allan McCutchan, who holds leases of 844 acreß .—Approved. P., S. and N. Rosenbeck applied to transfer section 6, block 7, Waro, 555 acres, to W. A. Harvey.—Approved. W. H. Collett, Bection 29, block 1, Tangtiu, 180 acres, applied to transfer to Jas. Duffy and J. H. Brown.— Refused. J- D.Smith applied to transfer section 17, block 15, Pountu, 682 acres, to T. R. Hodder and G H. Elliott. Approved. S. Williamson, by mortgagee, applied to transfer section 6, block 3, Aria. 220 acres, to C. G. Eriksson and H. R. Mac Donald. —Refused, as transferees are not landless. MATTERS OF FORFEITURE. It was resolved to give the parties notice that consent to transfer section 8, block 5, Aria, from Cnburn to self and Ansell will be withdrawn if transfer is not registered within one month, and the section forfeited. It was resolved that F. J. Wasley, who was compelled through an accident while bushfalling to forfeit section 1, block 10, Aria, be not disqualified under f-ection 15 (1) of the Land Laws Amsndment Act, 1913. W. A. Thornton, lessee of section 1, block 2, Totoro, was called on to show cause why his interest should not be forfeited for non-residence. resolved to suspend action re forfeiture. John Corlett waß called on to show cause why his interest in section 1, block 10, Waro, should not be forfeited for non-residence. He now applied for exemption from renidence on the ground that there was no school for his children to attend.— Twelve months' exemption granted. GENERAL. It was resolved to approve Mr McKinnon's application for section 3, block 7, Tangitu. James Penniall, who holds a Maori lease in block 7, Tangitu, 1136 acres,
applied for a lease of Crown land adjoining Refused. The Whangamomona County Council forwarded proposals for expenditure of £236 12s 4d accrued thirds.—Approved subiect to report of ranger. McKenzie and Hclioway, lessees of section 15, block 9, Totoro, 201 acres 1 rood 10 perches, applied for deferred payment licenses. License issued subject to residence condition.
