SHIPPING FATALITY.
ON THE IRISH COAST. WHOLE CREW DROWNED. London, Monday. The Norwegian vessel Mexico has been stranded on Saltee Island, Wexford, Ireland, in a tempest. Two of the'crew have come ashore, both badly injured. A lifeboat from Fethard, which went out to rescue, was driven out to sea, where it capsized at midnight. At first it was reported that three of the crew were drowned and that the remainder had reached a rock, but later news shows that the whole of the crew were drowned. Another lifeboat from Kilmore was smashed against the Mexico's side. The occupants boarded the Mexico, which is in danger of breaking up. Three lifeboats remained near the Mexico for an entire day. The crew, excepting four who have been drowned, have taken refuge on a wave-washed rock.
The tempest compelled the lifeboats and tug to return to port. Seven of the lifeboatsmen's bodies have been washed ashore. The men on the rocks are in a pitiful plight. They have been without food since Friday, and con< stantly drenched by heavy seas.
