THE ENTRIES.
From year to year general interest is felt in tho en trios received for the above show, and ouch year, us the .number* are published, surprise is expressed at tho splendid exhibit of stock and industries that are recorded. For many years this Waikato Central he. Id the premier position an the Auckland province hs a stock .exhibition, and although this year s ■entries did not constitute a record the .exhibition bids fair to be the most -representative and best yet held by the Amaociation. The entries at tune of going to press wore as follows:--Horses 741, cattle :UM, sheep 3G5. piga (50. miscellaneous ?>-■'<>> t,ltal 17;j5 - From these iigumi it will be_ seen that the horses are u\ excess of last year- the iltfht horse i are ral.h.u- shore, but the excess is made up in draughts, .Which section is splendidly represented, exhibits coming from Munawatu Taranaki, Clevedon, Tuakau. Papalcura, Thanu-a Valley, and the King Country. Ah) was anticipated, the competition in the measurement caleses in this section are v/eU to the fore. Tho cattle sections are well hllea, the competition in pedigree and parade Jerseys beintf the best for many y«ars, Shorthorns and Holstoins are fllao strongly represented, while Jho fat stock competition is rather batter than tho average. Sheep aro the weak section. Thh is doubtless accounted for from the fact that in recent .years the Wai kato has devoted most of its attention to the dairying industry. The old gap;. The Waikuto Central has always "had the reputation of having that moat attractive industrial display, and, while keeping its stock exhibition well up-to-date, wo are led to believe that the competition this year in the industries is most even throughout and provides a really first-class show in itself. On the Whole the entries received provide material for one of the moat attractive ahows yet held.
