ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
AN AUSTRIAN CLAIM. SHACKLETON AND KOENIG. Received this day, 12.10 a.m. By Telegraph—Press Association.--Copyright Vienna, Tuesday. The suggestion is mooted that Koenig and Shackle ton should co-operate. The former claims priority of plan. Sir E. Shackleton, interviewed, said it was difficult to believe that Koenig claims-priority. His own plans were known before Koemg'a plans were communicated to the Austrian Geographical Society in May last. There is plenty of room for many expeditions. He fails to see how he could usefully co-operate with Koenig except by collaboration on the return of the respective expeditions.
