THE A. AND P. SHOW.

Settlers in a district such as the King Country do not require to have the fact impressed upon them that the Agricultural Show is a highly important factor in the progress of the district, and the forthcoming Show at Te Kuiti under the auspices of the King Country Central A. and P. Association should be widely patronised. The shows already held locally have had a marked effect in the direction of improving the quality of stock in the district, ana those who are alive to the advantages of quality are already beginning to reap the reward of their effortß to produce nothing but the best. In future as the district progresses, and conditions of transit and other facilities improve the effect is sure to be extended to an infinitely greater extent. Meanwhile the settlers are distinctly indebted to those who originally promoted the Association, and devoted their time and efforts to inaugurating such a useful body. In the first president,

Mr W. Gada'oy, the Association found a gentleman of wide experience who did yeoman's service in giving the Association a start on right lines, while these efforts were ably and loyally seconded hy Mr Somerville, who fittingly suceeded Mr Gadsby in the office. To these gentlemen, and others too numerous to mention, who constitute the committee, the success of the past shows may be largely attributed. It is gratifying to see that the same spirit of enthusiasm which has animated the executive in the past is still in existence, and only the loyal support of the Bottlers themselves is necessary to make the forthcoming show a record buccchh. That this will be accorded to the fullest extent we have every confidence. The Agricultural Show should be the farmers' own particular function in every respect, and the time is not far distant when the farmers of this district will be justly proud of the part played by them in promoting and supporting such a worthy institution.
