DISCHARGING A FIREARM.
A COSTLY SHOT. [BY TKLEGBAPH. —I'RESS ASSOCIATIOX.J Auckland, This Day. William McLeod, the showman who on December 11th, had an altercation with Oxenbam, another showman, ai the Showground, was charged with discharging firearms with intent to do bodily harm. Accused explained that a bullet became jammed in the rifle he was cleaning, and he fired it off, the bullet passing near Oxenham. The charge was reduced to one of discharging a firearm in a public place, and accused was ordered to pay £lO 16s aosts.
