FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' COUNCIL.

MEETING AT TE KUITI. A meeting was held last night at Te Kuiti of all those interested in the formation of Friendly Societies' Council, and after a lengthy discussion it was decided to form a Couoncil on th<» lines suggested with the object of promoting good fellowship among the members of the different societies, and in co-operating on general lines for mutual benefit. Rules were drafted for submitting to a subsequent general meeting, to be held on January 12th.

Mr"H. D. Cook was appointed secretary pro tem.
