UTILISING THE RABBIT.

Lieut. P. E. Grove, Sunnybanks, Tasmania, offers a suggestion for the effectively dealing with the rabbit problem. Quote: — "As bunny has come to stay and ie costing thouands of pounds annually to try and exterminate him, without success, why not encourage him, and go in for rabbit farms. I know by experience that the breed of rabbits can be improved just the same aa other stock, The same wire netting that will keep him out will keep him in. That much done with, sow your croDs to fatten him, and he will harvest them without any further expense. Have your own factory, preserve the carcase for export, and make felt of the waste fur trmmings, rugs, fte., of the best quailty, turning the offal into a salable manure, glue, etc., or put it back on to the landto grow more crops for him. "I read that furs are getting scarce all over the world, and, therefore, Mr Rabbit will have to make up the deficiency He certainly is a good food commodity. Every particle can be utilised. The New Zealand rabbits awlays bring the highest price on the London market simply because they are the fattest. "I fesl convinced that if some energetic settler with means would give a rabbit farm a fair trial he would make a fortune much easier than with stock.—"Farm and Settler, Sydney.
