NEW GOVERNMENT DEFEATED. Received this day, 8.50 a.m. Hy Telegraph.—Press Association.— Ctfpyrlßltt Melbourne, This Day. In the Assembly, after the amendment asking the Government to grant a resolution was negatived, Mr Watt's want of-confidence motion against the Elmsliu Government was carried by 40 to 13. It is understood Mr Elmshe does not ask for a dissolution, and resigns to day.
