An officer of the Board of Health said that he found a metal receptacle containing milk caked round the edges with stale milk fat. He took a pint of the milk to the Bureau of Microbiology for examination, and ,-. test showed that it contained MyHIO.OOO bacteria. The witness added that in the same quantity of normally clean milk there would be some .1,000,000 bacterai. When the scrapings from the edge of the can were examined they were found to contain about 2.400,000.000 bacteria per •framme.
